Synopsis:
The Sea of Warmth begins as Jiwoon, a young Korean professional, visits San Francisco. Haunted by the guilt of having given up his daughter, Bomin, for adoption years ago, Jiwoon struggles with the unsettling reality of Joonhee’s new family. As he gradually builds a bond with Joonhee’s daughter, Jimin, the nature of his relationship with Joonhee begins to shift, painting a new portrait of what family can be. However, the weight of loss and regret is never easily lifted.
Film Introduction:
The Sea of Warmth is a poignant exploration of human relationships, loss, and reconciliation. Through Jiwoon and Joonhee’s journey, the film delicately navigates the lingering traces of unresolved emotions and the attempt to mend wounds that seem irreparable.
Set against the poetic seascapes of San Francisco and the bustling cityscape of Seoul, the film visually contrasts the different lives the two protagonists have led. In the emptiness left by loss, they quietly seek forgiveness and the possibility of healing.
